Are you leaving Ireland for Europe? Longford Citizens Information Service has compiled an information pack for individuals who are planning on leaving Ireland to live and work in Europe. For further information please click on: Longford Advocacy Partners in Disability Co. Longford Citizens Information Service (C.I.S.) now has a professional advocacy service available to assist people with disabilities in the county to access services relevant to their individual needs, such as health, housing, social welfare, education/training etc. It is a free, independent, confidential and impartial service and is available on a one-to-one basis. The L.A.P. – D. project is a partnership between the C.I.S. and local organisations working with people with disabilities in the county and is funded by The Citizens Information Board. The service is independent of all existing service providers in the county leaving the Advocate on the side of the person who is in need of the service. The project has engaged a professional Advocate, Andrea Reynolds, who, based on an understanding of a client’s needs, can advise and support clients in order to make their own decisions, claim an entitlement, or take a course of action and, she will then, if appropriate, go on to negotiate or make a case on a client’s behalf. We are based in the Citizens Information Centre and if you would like to find out more about this new service then please feel free to call Andrea at 043-3341069.
